About the Ingredients
Avocado Oil: cold pressed avocado oil is golden in colour and contains vitamins A, D, and E, amino acids, and lecithin. A popular oil in skin care as it moisturises and softens skin, increases elasticity without leaving a greasy after-feel. Avocado oil is also high in sterolins (plant fat), which are extremely moisturising, and known to reduce signs of ageing, extreme dry skin, eczema, sun damage, and blemishes.Avocado oil penetrates the skin better than most plant oils. It penetrates through the epidermis and into the dermis layer of our skin, leaving it hydrated and smooth and contains monsaturated fats, providing an SPF between 4-15!Cocoa Butter Wafers: I use cocoa butter wafers because they are easy to work with and are not deodorized which gives these lotion bars that chocolatey scent that pairs so lovely with the peppermint essential oil.Cocoa butter contains natural antioxidants. It is naturally rich in Vitamin E as well as a number of other vitamins and minerals. Cocoa butter is one of the most stable fats known, a quality that, coupled with the natural antioxidants, prevents rancidity."Beeswax Pastilles: organic beeswax pastilles are used in this recipe to solidify and stabilize the oils, preventing them from melting too easily in heat. I only work with the pellets for my DIY recipes because they are SO much easier to measure out. You can find organic, beeswax pastilles here.Peppermint Essential Oil: peppermint oil us great for headaches, digestive upsets, mental fatigue, colds, flus, muscular aches and pains, and reduces the appearance of blackheads.
