Fudgy Black Bean Brownies

034You would never guess that these fudgy black bean brownies were healthy, and will fool even the most sophisticated sweet tooth! I served them at Christmas, and made them yesterday for my hubby for Valentine’s Day (with raspberry, cream cheese icing) and they were an absolute hit!

These are a twist on my “Better-Than-A-Muffin Muffins,” and some black bean brownies my Step-Mom, Arla, made a few months back—I just really wanted to make a dessert that was healthy, and my own and I think I’ve done just that. They’re gluten-free, sweetened with honey, and contain organic ingredients, so give them to your kids as a special treat, or indulge yourself—guilt-free!

The secret to these brownies: black beans. I know, so bizarre, but they make these brownies truly decadent, without using flour. Just make sure you rinse the beans very well first, or else they’ll…do what beans do.
